Chicken Care Volunteers Needed for Fall Break!
Do you want to spend some time outside with the family this fall break? Sign up to come take care of our APG chickens! You can also bring your visiting friends and family to meet and pet the chickens. Reach out to Teacher Ansel if you want to join the garden team and learn how to do chicken care. Volunteers can take home any eggs, and we will also have a small thank you gift for everyone who helps out during the breaks.
Questions? Email Garden Teacher Ansel, aschoonhoven@bacr.org
This holiday season, APG will proudly be donating toys to the San Francisco Firefighters Toy Program! The San Francisco Firefighters Toy Program is the city's largest and the nationโs oldest program of its kind. Since 1949, it has evolved from a few firefighters repairing broken toys and bikes for 15 families to, in 2021, 300 firefighters and friends volunteering their time to distribute over 200,000 toys to more than 40,000 disadvantaged children.
Our goal is to reach 100 new/unopened toys by December 16th until 4PM. SF Firefighters Toys has asked for the toys to be new and unwrapped, for ages infant through 12. Their biggest need is girls, ages 8 through 12. We cannot accept any type of guns or weapons. Please drop off toys to our Wellness Center (Rm 128), you can also have your students drop them off. If you have any questions, please email Danielle (shimw@sfusd.edu).
