During School

Lunch Clubs

APG Beacon offers multiple lunch clubs for APG students that support their academic enrichment, enhance their social skills, give them an opportunity to pursue new or existing interests and connect them with the school community. Some current clubs that are offered include Lego Club, Jaguars for Justice, Chess Club, Mixed Student Collective, and more!

*Registration is not required to join lunch clubs*

Students are welcome to drop in to clubs. Please reach out to Cameron Gunter at cgunter@bacr.org or gunterc@x.sfusd.edu if you have questions or need a lunch pass.

Student Leadership

APG Beacon promotes student leadership by offering volunteer opportunities, supporting students in leading lunch clubs, and through programs such as Student Government and Ladders of Leadership. We believe that by encouraging student leadership, we can support students in broadening and improving skills that they already have.

Student Government consists of 24 student senators - 8 senators from each grade level, elected by their peers. As senators, they promote leadership, service, student voice, and community engagement. If you have any questions, please reach out to our Student Leadership Specialist, Nikki Magallanes at nmagallanes@bacr.org or magallanesn@x.sfusd.edu

Ladders of Leadership is a student-led group that promotes community and student leadership. All participants get a stipend at the end of the school year. They meet during lunch every Monday and Wednesday. Please reach out to coordinator Lalo Gomez at ggomez@bacr.org if you are interested.

Garden Education

The APG Garden hosts inquiry-based environmental education classes and a Garden Lunch Club during the school day as well as an After School project based learning club. We also offer community engagement opportunities for community members both during and outside of school time.

Garden Club is a lunch club open to all APG students. They meet at lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Garden.

Garden Work Days are for students and community members to help beautify the Garden space and connect with their community. The next Garden Workday is on Saturday, November 4 from 9-2am.

If you have any questions, please reach out to our Garden Educator.
